Infidelity

What is Infidelity?

Infidelity is breaking a promise to remain faithful to a committed partner. That promise can take many forms. It can be emotional and or sexual. Sometimes there may be good reasons that the betraying spouse may rationalize, or sometimes there are no reason at all. As difficult it is to imagine, infidelity is very common.

When it does happen, the betrayed partner is left with painful questions. Should I stay in this marriage? Will I ever forgive my partner? Can I ever rebuild the trust? Should I cut my losses and move on? How will it effect our children? Should I tell our children? Should my partner move out? Should I move out of the bedroom? Who should I confide in? How do I know if the partner that cheated has stopped the affair? What happens if the cheating partner is still he/she is still texting, calling or on Face Book? Should I have access to my partners passwords for phone and email?

In Couples Therapy, we discuss and deal with all aspects of infidelity and recovery. I offer a roadmap for healing. It can be a long and painful process, but there is hope! I have helped many couples heal and work through infidelity. Through couples and individual therapy, you can recover and have a better marriage than you had before.
